France is a country of democracy, freedom, great food, lovely people and some amazing sights. The French have always been about spirit, but also about the things around them that represent that spirit. We take a look at some awesome things we will always be thankful to france for. 

 

 

1. Champagne
Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles. Pure decadence in a bottle. Ok, so the premium version from Tesco actually doesn’t always live up to the massive hype of how you imagine it should taste but champagne is nearly the first thing we think of when planning celebrations of any life-changing event from graduations to christenings to winning Formula 1 races.Its also omnipresent in any dreams we may have had about winning the Lotto.
You pop it off every New Years Eve, but did you know it was created in France? The French are to thank for this delicious bubbly drink.

 

 

2. Tourist Attractions
The place for the most brilliant and remarkable monuments? Those buildings are all in Paris, which is also considered a part of France. Of course, the Eiffel tower, Notre-Dame, Arc de Triomphe etc are some of the very famous monuments of all time. Who wouldn’t want to witness such a wonder?

 

 

3. The Language
Yes utterings of la belle langue may instantly result in foreigners receiving the best Gallic sneer from the natives but you can’t deny this is one of the most beautiful languages on earth. Most of the time. THE WORLD WANTS TO LEARN FRENCH. I’m not even over exaggerating when I say this. But the language is so subtle and beautiful that when you speak, you know you’re being really kind. Even if you’re screaming, it doesn’t even feel wrong, because of the tone.

The words are really spoken in a melodies tone and cannot be interpreted as harsh.

Education is France is given extra attention to. The literacy rate of France being 99%, everyone is given a chance to study and for those who can’t afford education are also given concessions. Paris West University, University of Montpellier, Science Pro etc are also very famous for their excellent education and great faculty.

France is known for its amazing taste in fashion. And well, where do all these good clothes come from? Paris is one place where great fashion flows in everyone’s blood. Oh, what a beautiful country. It holds the best collection of clothes across the globe and great designers and stylists come and shop from here.

And how can we forget the fashion shows? People travel from the other side of the world just to be a part of this amazing country and share a drink or two with the best fashion designers in the world!

The French are known for their love of cinema and have created some of the best movies. The Cannes film festival is unarguably the most popular celebration of global cinema wherein film professionals from all over the world meet and greet each other.

 

 

7. Food
The French are known for their lip smacking delicacies such as croissants, red wine, French toast, baguettes, Camembert cheese, meat dishes, etc. The desserts they invented such as macaroons, mousses, eclairs, creme brulee, among many others are to die for.

 

 

8. Perfumes
When it comes to the art of perfumes, no country ranks more highly than France. Many of the greatest names in the perfume industry, Chanel, Christian Dior or Estée Lauder are French, and in terms of international perfume sales, France is leader, with 30% of the world market. France, the world’s perfume capital, is home to some of the most famous and enticing perfumes in the world. They have created fragrances with an everlasting touch to them. So basically, they have gifted us the power to smell good at all times and we cannot find a better reason to thank them for!

 

 

9. Cheese
Next time you bite into the heavenly slice of pizza and get lost in its cheesy goodness, remember France, where it all comes from. In fact, in a country that produces almost 246 varieties of cheese, you don’t have to go much further than the corner shop to get a good chunk of the best Parmesan or Cheddar.

Who doesn’t love French kissing? You have the French to thank for this lovely activity that you can partake in with your lovely partner. Paris is the city of love after all.
