68 Years Old Doing His Job, Are We?

An Indian Army retired cook, who served army from 1962 to 1982 is making some news with his generous act by voluntarily regulating traffic near Nalla Sopara (East), police station in Mumbai everyday. Ramdayal yadav 68, who is not an appointed traffic police man in a white kurta with Gandhi topi manages the traffic for four hours everyday.

He opted for voluntary retirement service after he death of his son in an accident in Bhayander. Out of his three daughters he lives with the one who is a widow from 2013.  Before moving in with his daughter he was residing in kandivali, there also he regulated traffic with permission from the heads.

He says that there used to be heavy traffic near his house and only one traffic constable to monitor it which made it very difficult to manage. And this made him decide to do something about it.  He approached the Tulinj police station to seek approval. And while Yadav, due to lack of any formal appointment, cannot issue fines to motorists violating traffic rules, every time he tracks down a violator, Ramdayal alerts the traffic officials, who then take the matter forward.

The Senior Citizen says it keeps him active mentally and physically.
