An Indian Army retired cook, who served army from 1962 to 1982 is making some news with his generous act by voluntarily regulating traffic near Nalla Sopara (East), police station in Mumbai everyday. Ramdayal yadav 68, who is not an appointed traffic police man in a white kurta with Gandhi topi manages the traffic for four hours everyday.

He opted for voluntary retirement service after he death of his son in an accident in Bhayander. Out of his three daughters he lives with the one who is a widow from 2013.  Before moving in with his daughter he was residing in kandivali, there also he regulated traffic with permission from the heads.

He says that there used to be heavy traffic near his house and only one traffic constable to monitor it which made it very difficult to manage. And this made him decide to do something about it.  He approached the Tulinj police station to seek approval. And while Yadav, due to lack of any formal appointment, cannot issue fines to motorists violating traffic rules, every time he tracks down a violator, Ramdayal alerts the traffic officials, who then take the matter forward.

The Senior Citizen says it keeps him active mentally and physically.

Kudos to the Hero!

Test cricket is the longest form of the sport of cricket. The first official cricket Test match in history began in March, 1877 between an established English team and a newly-formed Australian squad at the Melbourne Cricket ground. It finished in a 45-run win for Australia.

Thirteen Test Matches were played between Australian and English sides. Most were not styled as representative “England v. Australia” contests, however this description was only applied later by cricket statisticians. The same is true of their designation as “Test matches”, which did not enter into the vernacular until 1885.

The laws of cricket are established by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and describe the rules worldwide to ensure uniformity and fairness. Some rules are like; in men’s cricket the ball must weigh between 5.5 and 5.75 ounces (155.9 and 163 g) and measure between 8 13/16 and 9 in (22.4 and 22.9 cm) in circumference.

Early cricketers played in their everyday clothes and had no protective equipment such as gloves or pads. The term “bat” remained comparatively rare until about 1720. The terms in more general use were “staff”, “stave” or “stick”. In early cricket, there were two umpires as now, but the modern square-leg umpire stood close to the striker’s wicket. Both umpires carried a bat which the running batsman was required to touch in order to complete his run.

There have been great wins in the test matches, one of which was the when England defeated Australia by 675 runs in the 1928-29 season. There were also many individual high scorers like Brian Lara scored 400 runs against England in 2003-04 season.

The first trophy awarded in the game of cricket was The Ashes. The Ashes urn is a small urn made of terracotta and standing 11 cm high, believed to contain the ashes of a burnt cricket bail. Some other trophies awarded in the test cricket series are Anthony De Mello Trophy, Wisden Trophy, Frank Worrell Trophy, etc.

There are various beautiful stadiums built across the world, some of which are The Lord’s Stadium, London, Queenstown Event Centre, New Zealand. Cricket is the most famous game among Indians. The cricket players are followed which is a reason why they are frequently offered to be the face of various products that come up in the market.

Extreme sports refer to the adventure sports that are performed by people now-a-days as a recreational activity or for fun activity. These include paragliding, scuba diving, zorbing, rafting, bungee jumping, etc. These sports are performed at specific places where there is suitable terrain and climate available for the particular sport to be performed. For instance rafting requires open waters like that of a river and so is performed in places like Alaska, Canada and Chile etc. Also paragliding which requires open spaces in the air at long stretches, is done in the mountains of danyang in South Korea, Yelgiri and many other places.

These extreme sports are different from the regular or the traditional sports played in the daily life. These traditional sports are usually played for a competitive purpose and also representing a team, they are played to win. However the extreme sports are performed by a person just for the recreational purpose, to spend time away from the usual schedule and doing something different. People are subjected to natural and unusual physical and mental challenges in such sports.

The main difference that can be spotted between the two types of sports is that the adventure sports are dangerous and life threatening whereas the regular sports are not. These sports can only be performed by people above a certain age and having certain physical ability. Children have to be assisted by parents or an elder if they wish to take part in any such activity.

Some negative points associated with adventure sports are that the equipments used for these are quit costly, and the sport cannot be performed without the protective gears. Even while performing with all the equipments attached, one is not completely sure of the safety. Accidents can take place even after taking all the precautions. There is always a danger of getting hurt or even getting seriously injured.

All there dangers are always associated with the sport but if a person gets his mind and body ready for such a thing, then the fun associated with it can be experienced. A person should be physically fit and strong for any such activity as it involves great physical strength. And also as these are subjected to height, deep waters and such destinations, one must have a strong heart, or else it could be life threatening for anyone who is phobic to any of these.

Apart from all the dangers, extreme sports are the most fun involved, full of enthusiasm and carry a lot of advantages. People who perform such activities remain physically fit and healthy as it increases their blood circulation and keeps the body healthy. These activities take one into a different world away from the daily stressful life. It’s the best form of recreation. Not only getting rid of the monotonous life, these activities help to build up confidence, physical and mental strength, will power, etc. It makes one strong enough to take risks in life.

Remember the robust prince coming out of a box in Alisha Chinai’s music video called Made in India (1995)? Yes, it is probably the first time we saw Milind Soman on screen and he grabbed millions of eyeballs. No doubt that he became the Prince Charming for every woman. One Indian celebrity who made us want to add the word ‘hot’ to our dictionary to describe (and, unwittingly, objectify) humans, it would be Milind Soman. Back in the 90s we loved everything that had Milind Soman in it. We may have had Tom Cruise, but Milind was our own homegrown, Greek-God-gorgeous, rockstar.

If Hollywood has George Clooney, we have Milind filling the desi salt and pepper spot with perfection. We love you, Milind! May you always be your sublime, hot, charming, and determined self.

1. Milind Soman was born in a Maharashtrian family in Scotland and thereafter he lived in England until the age of seven. After that, his family moved back to India. His father Prabhakar Soman, is a scientist and his mother is a biochemist, who taught at Wilson College.

2. Milind Soman has always been interested in doing activities that can keep him fit. At a young age, he showed lots of interest in swimming and because of his efforts, he has won the national swimming championship title for 4 years in a row since 1984. He quickly engaged with the modelling and Bollywood world, and made a name for himself.

3. There was a point in his life when he used to smoke 30 cigarettes a day! However, when he realised that he was addicted, he quit smoking. It took him six long months to quit the butt, after which he can’t even passive smoke.

4. Milind Soman, on May 20, 2012, became a Limca Record Book record holder for running 1,500 km in 30 days for Greenathon. This event was hosted by NDTV to spread environmental awareness across the country.

5. Milind Soman is also involved in activities that can support women to take up fitness and a healthy lifestyle to a new level. He was involved as a very active member in Pinkathon marathon that was held for a cause of breast cancer across the country.

6. You will be proud to know that Milind Soman won the Ironman Triathlon competition in which 2000 people were participating from different parts of the world. He was amongst the 7 Indians. The competition was arranged by World Triathlon Corporation, which includes a 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km cycle ride and 42.2 km run. Soman completed the challenge in 15 hours and 19 minutes and won the title.

7. As most of us prefer different types of shoes for different workout, Milind Soman likes to keep it simple by running barefoot. According to him, barefoot running gives him the best feel of running.

feature-milind-soman

8. Milind Soman started running half-marathons at the age of 38, which is not a young age for running. He then advanced to running full marathons, and then at the age of 50, he took over the triathlon. He took charge of his health after 40 and proves that it’s never too late to start living a healthy life.

9. The reason behind this supermodel turns into a runner from every corner of India is Soman wants to see Indian women start running for their health. No superstar till date has supported a cause that talks about the well-being of Indian women. The supermodel organises Pinkathon, a running event only for women.

10. These days Soman is accompanied by his 76 years old mother Usha Soman. According to a video which got viral showing on the penultimate day of the The Great India Run (which concludes on August 4) near the Manor, a district near Thane. Within a day of being posted, it was viewed nearly 350,000 times, with close to 5,000 shares. And the numbers are going up as we type.

This picture of Malik on the ground wrapped in the flag reflects the message goes way beyond a medal…
It is a firm affirmation of the fact that the daughters of India are no less (if not more) than its sons.
Just give them a fair opportunity and watch them soar!

I bet nobody had missed the movie Sultan in july 2016, offcourse we all fell in love with the movie and the innocent character played by one of the best bollywood the Khan bhai… Salman Khan as Sultan in the movie. In the movie Anushka Sharma also played one of the most bold and challenging role which knocks down many in the indian society where women empowerment is still a great concern. She boldly and gracefully  justified her role.

Let us all not forget about the lil SULTAN, The opener in the Rio Olympics 2016, it is Sakshi Malik who made all the Indian hope high again after so many disappointments at the Rio 2016. This star not only brought the glory to the country by winning the bronze at the Olympics but also gives rise to the fact that womenhood is not only about sitting behind its more of moving forward.

Sakshi Malik is an example of what hard-work and determination can achieve by qualifying for a semi-final match of the Olympic Games is a fantastic feat in itself. Then the fact that she is a girl and was born in a country where many people still believe in predefined stereotypical roles for women, all makes her remarkable victory all the more special.

Her coach and she had to face opposition from the locals for having taken up a sport “not for girls”. Her bronze medal is a major victory over sexism in one of India’s most conservative states, Haryana.

4. Sakshi’s first success as a professional wrestler in the international arena came in 2010 at the Junior World Championships where she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg freestyle event.

A country where women are venerated or idolized the Supreme Force or Shakti. The victory of Sindu is a laudable effort. Sindhu – the tall, long legged girl, polite to a fault and whose game has been razor sharp and smashing relentless; her net and drops rather deft and defense solid – who has two World Championship bronze medals and no Super Series crown.

She always had the attacking game, the steep smashes and the firepower in her kill strokes. She’s added a base of defense to it – tougher than for most others given how tall players struggle owing to their higher centre of gravity.

The medal count might not match London, but this is a sensational result for Indian badminton – to play the biggest final that there will be internationally – of the next four years. And the elegant woman with a beast of a smash, is promising India to fly.

BRAVO!

1. The Indian star at the Rio 2016 olympics  P.V. Sindhu or Pusarla Venkata Sindhu was born on 5th of July 1995 in Hyderabad, Telangana,IndiaShe is an Indian professional badminton player.

3.pvsindhu

3. Sindhu first learned the basics of the sport with the guidance of Mehboob Ali at the badminton courts of Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. Soon after she joined Pullela Gopichand’s badminton academy.

pvsindhu

4. There is no doubts about her commitment and determination as the fact that she reports on time at the coaching camps daily, travelling a distance of 56 km from her residence, is perhaps a reflection of her willingness to complete her desire to be a good badminton player with the required hard work and commitment.

5. P. V. Sindhu received international attention as she broke into the Top 20 in the Badminton World Federation rankings released on 21 September 2012.

pvsindhu

6. On 10 August 2013, Sindhu became the first ever Indian women’s singles player to win a medal at the 2013 World Championships. In 2014, PV Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian to win two back-to-back medals in the World Badminton Championships. Going forward she also achieved her career-best ranking of 9.

7.pvsindhu

7. On 30 March 2015, she received India’s fourth highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri.
